We had our 2nd annual camping trip with friends this year. Last year it was a bit rough for us since the kids did not handle camping well and we had to leave in the middle of the night to bring them home to sleep. It was also SUPER hot last year, which didn't help things. This year the temperature was much cooler, the kids were a year older and knew what to expect, and it went SO much better. Unfortunately, the weather didn't completely cooperate. We made it through Friday night perfectly. We bought a new tent which had much more room in it, the girls had blow-up beds, and cooler temps helped everyone sleep through the night. On Saturday night a storm rolled in and the rain came around midnight. The kids started waking up one at a time, and I started getting dripped on through the tent. The rain was out of control! Another family had water running through their tent and they bailed and drove home. We stuck it out for awhile but decided to drive home to get a good night's sleep (we were only 20 minutes from home) since we didn't know when the rain would stop. We returned the next morning to a very wet tent, but managed to pack everything up and make the most of another day swimming at the waterpark at the campground. We're already looking forward to trying it again next year! :)
Nothing like laying in the tent feeling rain drip on you :)
